Can we legalize euthanasia already? I can't stop thinking about this story.
If you haven't been following it, Ray Gosling is a 70-year-old BBC commentor who, on a documentary show no less, confessed to killing his lover twenty years ago. Gosling still hasn't released the lover's name, but said that the man was suffering from AIDS and that the two had made a pact: if the pain became too much to bear then Gosling was to help him end it all. Gosling smothered him with a pillow and says he has no regrets.
When I read brokedown, heartless bitches like this I want to scream. How dare she put "terrible, terrible pain" in quotations, like this man's suffering was alleged. Has she never seen somebody die of AIDS? I'm guessing not. We've come a long, long way in medicating HIV and preventing it from becoming AIDS, but dying from this disease was really ugly business and still is in many parts of the world.
I have no idea how the AIDS crisis was handled in England, but here in the United States it was met with a big, fat silence. Ronald Reagan and co. could not have given two shits that thousands of fags were dying of the gay cancer, and thus an entire generation of boy geniuses was eradicated within the span of a decade. It is no wonder these brave men took matters into their own hands. I would have done the exact same thing for my Fiance and hope he would for me as well.
If these people care so much about the sanctity of human life they ought to start treating people better, and yes, even fags. These are the same people that oppose abortion because human life is so precious. Until the baby is actually born, that is, when they completely turn their back on it, deny it health care and an education through institutionalized poverty and then ship the brat off to Iraq when it turns 18.
But, sure... life is precious!
GAH!
UPDATE: Here is another story that shows a clear example of why legalizing euthanasia is so important. WARNING: it is upsetting.
LET'S EUTHANIZE THE BIGOTS IN UGANDA AND PUT US ALL OUT OF OUR MISERY.

Another reason why you need to come live here in Europe! I think here in the UK it's getting close to legalising it - I give it ten years. Why should someone live in pain if they wish to end it all? Fucking Christians...

Just keep in mind there's no proof the guy was ill, agreed to the pact or even exists.
IMO it's a slippery slope if we can kill someone and claim we had a verbal pact with them.
